In this case, it began with a Kickstarter campaign back in November of 2016. Although running a crowdfunding campaign on an Easter product between Thanksgiving and Christmas, is not the most opportune time, we still reached our goal and pre-sold 450 units and off to production we went.
After 10,000 units arrived in Amarillo, TX, the task of shipping out 450 units began. In addition to the Kickstarter orders, the Eggmazing Team also had some smaller retail orders to fill. In the short span of about 3 weeks there was an incredible amount of online posts being made using the Eggmazing…
And then an Easter miracle happened! On March 23, 2017, an online influencer who has over 435,000 followers posted a video of her coloring an egg using the Eggmazing Egg Decorator and it went viral! On the 26th, the video reached 3million views and all the units were sold out! Within 1 week the video was over 10 million views. The Eggmazing team received over 4000 emails daily!
The moral of the story, focus on getting your product directly into the hands of people who will see the pure value in what you’ve created. They are the ones who will share it with others!
